As you prepare to attend Drone Ignite Africa 2027 

(April 1-2 2027), here’s everything you need to know to make your trip smooth and memorable.

Entry Requirements

  • Visa: Most visitors need a visa to enter Ghana. Apply at a Ghanaian embassy/high commission or through the Ghana eVisa system.

  • ECOWAS Citizens: No visa required.

  • Passport Validity: At least 6 months from your arrival date.

  • Yellow Fever Certificate: Mandatory for all travelers above 9 months old –  checked upon arrival.

  • Local currency:  (GHS)          Ghanaian Cedi.

  • Credit cards accepted at     hotels, malls, and restaurants.​

  • Carry cash for smaller shops    and local vendors.

  • ATMs and forex bureaus are widely available.

Flights & Arrival

  • Land at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), Accra.

  • Direct and connecting flights from London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Doha, Addis Ababa, Johannesburg, New York, and more.

  • Transfers: Taxis, hotel shuttles, and ride-hailing apps like Uber and Bolt are readily available.

Health & Safety

  • Accra is one of West Africa’s safest capitals, but usual precautions apply.

  • Drink bottled or filtered water.

  • Hospitals and pharmacies are available in Accra.
